Introducing
The Talking Circle Game sparks fun, meaningful, and memorable conversations in a safe space of mutual respect.
With 300 carefully curated, open-ended question cards, conversations naturally flow from small talk to soul talk, where people discover fascinating insights about each other. that you might not discover until you play the game.
Perfect for families, friends, couples, new acquaintances, and even strangers. Great for playing at dinner parties, Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings, camping vacations, workshops ..... wherever people want to create deep, magical moments of connection.
The game is designed to create memorable and engaging intergenerational conversations. Most card games are 18+, thus unsuitable for families with kids.
The game is designed to be collaborative not competitive. There are no winners or losers and no right or wrong answers. To ensure that everyone feels respected and included, there are no embarrassing, intrusive, repetitive or boring questions.
Other card games require players to respond to random questions which they must answer on the spot. The Talking Circle Game respects our freedom of choice, which fosters authentic conversations that feel natural rather than forced.
The carefully-curated question cards and the unique game play are grounded in 25 years of counseling practice and the latest scientific and psychological research.
The Talking Stones are ethically sourced from dry riverbeds in the Himalayas. The question cards are made from textured linen protected with a non-toxic varnish. The card deck box is made from high-grade, recycled cardboard.
The Talking Circle is a unique card game that can be adapted to many situations. The general gameplay below is perfect for groups of up to 10 people aged 10 and up. The game can also be adapted for larger groups, team building, retreats, and workshops.
Every Talking Circle Game starts with players reading The Player Agreement Card. They are asked to agree to treat each person with respect and to actively listen to each other with empathy.
Players are then given the Player Guideline Booklet which provides a visual overview for the game.
The Talking Stone is placed in the centre of the circle. When you're ready to share, you pick up the stone and have eveyone's full undivided attention and then you pass the stone to the next person.
The game has six question rounds. The first three rounds player share their chosen Individual Question Cards graduating through three levels of depth.
The next two rounds are Group Question Cards where players share their different perspectives in response to the same questions.
The final round is a Reflection Card where players are invited to share their positive feedback on their experience of participating in their Talking Circle.
Level 1, 2 and 3 are personal question cards that flow from icebreakers to thoughtful and deeper sharing, encouraging people to talk freely and be their authentic self. The group question cards build on the mutual respect and trust established in the first three rounds. This sparks "aha moments" of truly hearing each other and feeling understood and valued.
300 rarely-asked question cards for each of the six rounds of group conversations.
